Dear Student
It gives me immense pleasure to brining out the college magazine ‘Markandays Dhara’ for the session 2017-18. Every session is a new endeavor for the staff and the student of the Govt. college Juukhala.
The year went by peacefully the hopes and aspirations of many. The magazine derives its name from the abode of Rishi Markandaya in the jukhala valley at village Markand. There is a temple located in the village which is believed to be the birthplace of Rishi Markandaya. Devotees from far and near come to the this palce of holy dipp in the spering season in the hope of cashing in on the divine grace. A three day fair is held every year during the month of April, beginning on Baisakhi night. It is indeed a blessing to be a part of this divine ‘Dhara’ of Rishi Markandaya.
I also take the opportunity of throwing some light on the logo of our institution through this editorial.
In all respect ,the logoi tends to represent the geographical and cultural conception of Jukhala. It5 encompasses the three pilgrimage sites i.e of Markandaya, Vatikrishan and Indrakone. Thye Pitchers evident in logo show the ‘river of knowledge, flowing from Vatikrishan. Rishi Markandaya in meditative
Posture symbolizes thius divine land of meditation. The trident mirrors and resonates the power of Lorb Shiva. The lamp on the book shows a Journey from the darkness of ignorance towards the light of knowledge and its dissemination. The liveliness of the logo reflect the strength of the area as whole as well as the fertility of Dawin Valley. It would not be a hyperbole to say that this logo is the very soul of the institution, being a metaphor of its geography, culture and customs.
Finally, a word to the student community. Dear student, you are fortunate enough to be receiving quality education at par with global standard in this institution. Most of you belong to the area which
Is primarily rural with agriculture in as its prime location. Most of you belongs to the area which is primarily rural with agriculture as its this institution. Student life is the most and to make merry but it is
Also the time to make or mar one’s future. Realize your responsibility to acquire higher education in the real sense as you are one of those fortunate few who are the part of this college through the endless pursuit of your parents and teachers
All the best for a bright future.
